2012 Christmas Mantel...

I had a GREAT time planning and decorating our 2012 Christmas Mantel this year. I found a few ideas and inspirations from Pinterest and put my brain to work on how I could incorporate them all into our decor. I literally lost sleep trying to figure out how I wanted to decorate our mantel...silly, but that's how my OCD brain works :)

Here is our 2012 Christmas Mantel...

I think my favorite part about our mantel this year are the THREE stockings...

I started crying, at the mall no less, when I picked up Addi Kate's stocking :)

I used these old wooden cabinet doors a few years ago on our mantel and thought I would use them again to hang the fresh wreaths.

You can see the mesh bows that I talked about in my previous post in these next two pictures...I love how they turned out.

I could sit by the fireplace ALL DAY LONG and enjoy not only the warmth of the fire, but also to admire our Christmas mantel.

Merry Christmas from the Knights!

BOWS!!!

I started putting up our Christmas decor on Black Friday. I avoid the stores like the plague...mainly because I can't stand the crowds AND because I love turning our home into a Winter Wonderland :)

I woke up early the day after Thanksgiving and started working on some bows for our Christmas decor. I watched this YouTube video on how to create the perfect mesh bow and got to work. Here are a few of the bows that I made...

I L.O.V.E. how this one turned out! It looks perfect on this wreath :)

I'm thinking I might cut the tails off of this bow...it is hiding all the adorable Christmas ornaments I have stuffed in this lantern.

I had some leftover burlap ribbon and thought I would try to create a bow using the mesh technique...and it worked!! This will look perfect on top of our three tier basket that normally sits on our dinette table.

And this gigantic bow (and it's partner) will adorn our 2012 Christmas mantel. I can't WAIT to show you our mantel this year...it turned out even better than I had planned :)

I just love bows!!!

Thanksgiving 2012...

I have REALLY been struggling with making time to blog these days. I also haven't been taking too many pictures either :( So here is my lame excuse at documenting our 2012 Thanksgiving.

We hosted Thanksgiving at our house again this year. We just had a small group, maybe around 12 people. We do not have a large dining table, so we made-do with this table in our living room...

I didn't really have any decor to put on the table and then I rememberd that I picked up this garland for our Christmas mantel and decided to use it.

I just added a few of our leftover pumpkins from Halloween and it turned out perfect!

We put a few people at our kitchen dinette table...

The key was to have everyone in one central location so we could be together...and it worked!

I took a few pictures of my belly that morning so I could document what we are MOST thankful for this year...

I can't believe our sweet angel will be here in less than three months!!!

That same weekend we invited David's family over for a camp-out at Ponderville. My parents property is looking better and better everyday and they are almost finished with the building they plan to use to keep their motorhome and mom's puppies.

Here are a few pictures from that day...

Kodi was trying to get in a little nap on the way to Ponderville...cuteness!!

My nephew (and Kodi) had a great time playing at the property. There are a ton of woods, trees, and places to explore.

You can see the back of the building my parents are building in this picture (if you can get past the cuteness of my nephew in this photo).

The weather in Jacksonville has been COLD. So we had this fire roaring all night long to keep us warm.

Overall, we had a blessed Thanksgiving 2012. This Thanksgiving I am MOST thankful that my parents are just 25 minutes from us and we are able to spend a TON of time with them whenver we want to AND for the gift of life...Addison Kate has changed our lives more than she will ever know.

Sneak Peeks...

My mom was reading my blog this weekend and told me that since it was November now, I better get busy and update my blog...mainly because the title of my last blog post was October :) So here I am with a quick little update and a few sneak peeks.

My parents are in town and I am hoping they stay until Addison is born. They have been busy working on building a little place to not only house their motorhome, but also a few rooms for them to enjoy as well. Here is a little sneak peek of what they've been up to...

We are hoping that they start painting this week so mom can get busy on designing the rooms inside...that's what I think will be the FUN part :) We spent this past Sunday browsing Pinterest and magazines for ideas...good times!

These next pictures aren't really sneak peeks...but I just had to share anyway.

Mom and dad brought one of my favorite girls...Maci!

I just love here little face. She took a nap on me (and Addison) this weekend...

And since I titled this blog post "Sneak Peek," I thought I would share one of the pictures from our Christmas/Maternity photo shoot this past weekend...

I just L.O.V.E. that red chair!! Can't wait to see the rest of the photos :)

Hopefully my next post will be a bit more exciting because Lord knows we have plenty of things going on around the Knight home!
