Knight Family Easter Celebration...

We had blessed Easter this year. It's always a special holiday, but this year it was even more special for David and I...because it was Addi Kate's first Easter.

We woke up early for church and took a few family pictures when we got home...

We hosted Easter this year and had close to 30 friends and family over for food, an Easter Egg Hunt, and fellowship.

Addi definitely had a great time and was the star of the party :) This is Dma and Grammy feeding our little angel...

Uncle Mike got some Addi-time too...

We have new neighbors and invited them over. Their son, Davidson, is 16 months old and is as cute as can be!!! They are also expecting a little girl in June...

Here are some of the big kids waiting on the Easter Egg Hunt...

Grammy with Aunt Bubbles...

We changed into our Easter Egg Hunt clothes and had a quick photo shoot of our new family of three!

Even Addison enjoyed the Egg Hunt (even though she slept through the entire thing)!!!

Our friend Mary-Katherine's son, Kodi...

Our cousin's little girl, Laila...

Our nephew Mikey sharing some of the eggs he found...

And little Davidson looking for eggs...

After the little kids had their Easter Egg Hunt, my mom and mother-in-love bought lottery tickets for the BIG kids' Easter Egg Hunt...

They were required to hold an Easter basket as they searched for the eggs which was quite hilarious...

It was a great time with our family and friends.

I hope you had a blessed Easter too. He is RISEN!!!

Green Apple...

I mentioned in my previous post that David and I had planned to paint our adirondack chairs to brighten up our pool deck. Here is the finished product...

I LOVE how bright they are...the green apple paint makes them really POP.

The pillows and the red geraniums match perfectly too!

We still need to add one more coat of paint, but we were in a rush to get them ready for our family Easter celebration yesterday.

And I couldn't leave out pictures of our swing...

I can't WAIT until the jasmine starts to bloom...the smell is just to die for!

Isn't it amazing what a few cans of green apple spray paint can do???

Bringing Life Back...

We have been slowly trying to get our yard back into tip top shape from the winter. It's always been a fun and enjoyable time for David and I to work in our yard. Our yard is definitely something we are very proud of and we love having friends and family over to hang out in our back yard.  This year is no exception as we are hosting Easter Sunday at our home.

I have planted just a few new things to freshen up the yard, but I'm loving these simple potted plants I put together. Almost all of these flowers/plants are ones that I already had. I just arranged them in pots together...

We still need to put new mulch down and that will really brighten up our yard.

One of our new projects this year though is our adirondack chairs. When we got them they were a nice beige color...

On a side note...These pictures were from last Fall, but I LOVE how this big container looks with all the different flowers. I'll have to recreate it again this year.

But we have big plans to brighten up our pool deck so we decided to paint the chairs a bright green. The chairs are drying as I type this post, so I'll have to make another post with the finished product.

I found some GREAT outdoor pillows that I plan to eventually get for the chairs and I think they will match the green chairs perfectly!!!

And that, my friends, is how we plan on bringing a little life back into one of our favorite places.

Where Has the Time Gone?

I can't believe that it's mid-January...and my last post was about Christmas?!?! I'm falling down on the job :(

A lot has been going on at the Knight home as we prepare for Addison's arrival. After taking down all our Christmas decor, I thought it would probably be a good idea to go ahead and put out our Valentine's decor...only because I love decorating for every holiday and I have no clue how I'll feel or what we'll be doing once the baby gets here.

So here are just a few pics of some of our decor...

This picture is TERRIBLE quality, but it is what it is :( I kept the old cabinet doors on the mantel from Christmas and just added a Valentine's Day wreath I had the wreath hanging on the doors at first, but realized you couldn't see the pretty hardware.

I added this festive pennant banner to a shelf in the living room and I put a few other little small red and pink items around the house. Not too much, but just enough to say "Happy Valentine's Day!"

I am trying to decide what we can put over our TV...the framed burlap with the wreath was wearing on me...not to mention that David hated it the moment I put up :) But our neighbors moved a few weeks ago and left a lot of things out for the trash. So I scored some beautiful wrought iron crosses. They were a rustic red color, so I spray painted them black to match our decor and hung them up...

I like them and think they go great with the rest of our decor.

What else have we been up to? We have been enjoying watching all the football playoff games and gearing up for our newest arrival. We've also spent a lot of time with my parents now that they have been in Jacksonville working on their property.

We will have a TON of family visiting soon, so I'll share more pictures when our guests arrive.
