EXTREME Bench Makeover (UPDATED)

When we moved into our house two years ago, the previous owners didn't do much with the backyard. Which surprised us because the backyard was one of the reasons we bought the house in the first place!! The DH and I both grew up with swimming pools and couldn't wait to have one of our own. So when we found this house, we LOVED the inside and thought it would be perfect for our family one day...but what sold us was the pool in the backyard.


We envisioned MANY pool parties, family gatherings, and good times in the backyard. BUT, we had a lot of work set before us to get the yard just where we wanted it. I'll save all the pics of our yard for when Kelly does Where You Live Friday--Backyard Edition, but you have to see a sneak peek of what I did with this old bench in the very back corner of our yard.


Here is a pic of what it looked like originally...







It was just a weathered old bench and it didn't show up very well when you looked back into the yard. Our yard goes into a point in the back of the yard and it's just dark and dreary back there. But, look what this old drab bench looks like now...

Isn't it amazing what a little paint will do??? I picked out this pillow at Home Depot and got some paint to match, a few flowers, and this adorable lantern.

I think this EXTREME Bench Makeover has just created a little place where you'll find me hanging out and reading a book :)

UPDATE:

I missed out on Kelly's Where You Live Friday--Master Bedroom Edition. So I thought I'd post a few pics of our bedroom on this post too. After looking at some of the other master bedrooms, I thought I should pick up a few pillows for our bed. I LOVE how it turned out!! What do you think???

I LOVE this word vinyl above our bed...it's probably one of my FAVORITE things in our house :)

This is the little sitting area in our bedroom. My grandma found this old rocking chair in an old house for FREE and my mom had it refinished for my birthday (years ago). I think it looks perfect in this corner of our room.

I've been a busy little bee this weekend, haven't I????
